WCC - World Class Competition

In cooperation with Kulturhus Århus and DGI a digital arts feature is prepared for DGI’s next World Class Competition to be held in Atletion in Aarhus and Arena Fyn in Odense in November 2008.

The idea is to create an artistic staging of a sporting event with the participation of international stars. Choreographer Ingrid Kristensen responsible for the overall concept and TEKNE Produktion is developing of an interactive element.

International workshops for artists by the end of 2008: ‘You Can Run’ and ‘Leaving Traces’

In relation to the exhibition No Place To Hide at Skive Kunstmuseum at the end of 2008 there will be two internationally oriented workshops: ‘You Can Run’ led by Kassandra Wellendorf and Simon Løvind, and ‘Leaving Traces’ led by Han Halewijn (NL).

The two workshops are primarily targeted at professional artists and seeks to experiment with and produce prototypes of works of art, where interactivity plays an important role.

The two workshops takes place at Katrinebjerg, partly at CAVI.

The winners of DMDM

Five winners of TEKNE and TEKNE Produktions first nationwide competition in the use of digital technology for art and cultural purposes was chosen at an event in Musikhuset in Aarhus 19th June. The culmination of Danish Championship of Digital Media is near

The winners of DMDM 2008 - the Danish Championship of Digital Media is revealed on the 19th June 2008 in Musikhuset in Aarhus. Works in the genres animation, sound art, digital scenography, video art and music fights for the honor and two major prizes at 20,000 danish kroner and three prizes of 5,000 danish kroner. The Pandora Project - interactive dancing

Wayne Siegel, composer, researcher and professor at the Danish Institute for Electronic Music (DIEM)  in the years 1996 - 2002 developed a hardware system, “The DIEM Digital Dance System,” which allowed dancers to create sound through their movements. The system was sold to dance companies throughout the world, but since then, the technologies has developed significantly. 3D movie in the series ‘Verdensrum’ (outer space) highlighted in Politiken-review

CAVI and architect Birgit Kjaer’s cooperation under the auspices of TEKNE Produktion on the series of 3D short film entering an adventurous world built on the great world cultures recently bore fruit when the latest chapter - ‘Fletværk & Dis’ (wickerwork and haze) - were chosen for the Spring Exhibition 2008 at one of Denmark’s most recognized art institutions, Kunsthal Charlottenborg. More success follows now, since national newspaper Politikens art critic chooses to emphasize ‘Fletværk & Dis’ in the very positive review of the exhibition. Read more…

Newest piece of digital artwork in the series ‘Verdensrum’ at Charlottenborg

In collaboration with CAVI, the architect Birgit Kjaersgaard doing a series of several 3D short film entering an adventurous world built on the great world cultures. TEKNE Produktion delivers software programmers and 3D graphics for the project.

Not only the visual 3D-part of the work of art but also sounds and smells give the audience a different, exotic journey into a panoramic universe of experiences. From 12th of April until 1st of June the latest work ‘Fletværk & Dis’ (wickerwork and haze) can be seen at the Spring Exhibition 2008 at one of Denmark’s most renowned art institutions, Kunsthal Charlottenborg. The exhibition is curated by internationally renowned Karim Rashid.

The first work in the series, ’Mosaik & Regn’ (mosaic and rain), inspired by Arab culture, was screended in CAVI’s panoramic theater doring the culture festival Images of the Middle East in the autumn of 2006. Read more…

CphMinusOne: New media art with a climate profile

TEKNE Produktion and collaborators will during 2008 unveil a series of art projects with a climate profile under the headline ‘CphMinusOne’ . The title refers to the exhibition which TEKNE og TEKNE Produktion are to produce in 2009, ‘IMPACT: living in the age of climate change‘. An exhibition the Nordic Cultural Foundation (Nordisk Kulturfond) has chosen to be the Nordic Exhibition of the Year (Årets Nordiske Udstilling) during the UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen in 2009.

The works of art created under the CphMinusOne label, are to be part of IMPACT when completed. During 2008 the art projects will be presented in various stages of their development. All the works under CphMinusOne relates to IMPACT’s subtitle - “Art in the age of climate change ‘- by making use of climate data in one way or another …
